LOS ANGELES (Feb. 4, 2021) - What’s up Sentinels! Today is the start of the first closed qualifier for the Valorant Champions Tour, the path to crowning the best Valorant team in the world.

Here’s everything you need to know about what to expect in Valorant esports.

The year is broken up into three seasons spanning the entire 2021 calendar year.

It all starts in Valorant Challengers, where there are three qualifier rounds over six weeks that are split into two phases: Open and Closed. Teams who place in the top 8 in the open qualifiers move on to the closed qualifier to battle and advance to the next stage, the Challengers Final.

A top 4 finish in the second or third closed qualifier for Sentinels will secure a spot into the Valorant Masters. A top 4 finish in the first closed qualifier allows the Sentinels to skip the Open qualifier process for the subsequent round.

At Valorant Masters, teams will compete for prizes and points that go toward qualification for Valorant Champions – the world championship of Valorant – vlset for later this year. More information on how circuit points work will be released by Riot Games at a later date.

The Sentinels have three paths to qualify for Valorant Champions: Finish in the top-2 in circuit points among NA teams, which are accumulated over the three Masters-level events; win the third and final Valorant Masters event in September; or advance in a last-chance qualifier for NA in October to secure the region’s final spot.

We’re ready for the fight. And today is only the start. We hope you are ready for an exciting year of Valorant esports! Check out the full schedule for this week’s events below.
