LOS ANGELES (August 6, 2021) - Following last week’s announcement that Sentinels were entering into League of Legends: Wild Rift, the organization is pleased to announce the six new members who will contend for world championships as representatives of North America.

Joining Sentinels are top laner Matt “MTS” Stover; jungler Kevin “Sheesh” Chavez; mid laner Michael Udall (same in-game alias); ADC Tanner “Rest” Scadden; and support Jacob “Beginnings” Chavez. Joining the organization as head coach is William “ThePierceJ” Ware.

Competition under the Sentinels banner starts Aug. 7-8th where the Wild Rift team will be playing in the first major of the Summoners Series in North America. Similar to the qualification process for the Valorant Champions Tour (VCT), teams will fight for four spots into the next major tournament, culminating toward the NA Championship in October with a prize pool of $70,000.

MTS, Rest and Beginnings all come together from another popular mobile title Arena of Valor, where teammates MTS and Rest worked together to become two-time North American Champions under Allegiance. MTS went on to compete overseas in the South Korean pro league for Arena of Valor, switching to Wild Rift as a new journey in mobile gaming.

“Sentinels was always an organization I had been looking at in NA, especially with all their recent accomplishments,” MTS said. “So I'm excited to now be a part of them. Can’t wait to finally compete in NA again with a fresh start and win some trophies.”

Rest was awarded MVP status in Arena of Valor during the first-ever professional split of pro league play in 2018. He described joining Sentinels for a new chapter in his esports career as an “incredible” feeling.

“Playing League professionally has been a dream of mine and I'm excited to be back in esports under Sentinels,” Rest said. “While I am role swapping (from support to ADC), I know I can make the adjustments needed and our team can become one of the best!”

Beginnings placed second to his teammates MTS and Rest in Season 2 of Arena of Valor back in 2018 under Tribe Gaming. But in Season 3, it was his turn to become a champion and take home gold. His departure from Arena of Valor and into the world of Wild Rift is a breath of fresh air for the proven support.

“It is invigorating to be able to compete professionally again, especially getting signed to such a renowned organization,” Beginnings said. “I know my potential is a lot greater than what it was when I played before; I can’t wait for this team to become the best in NA.”

Michael Udall joins Sentinels with a proven track record from other MOBA titles such as Heroes of the Storm, where in 2016 he won first place with Arizona State University in the well-known “Heroes of the Dorm” competition. He also spent time playing high-level Dota 2 before making the move to the Rift.

“It feels amazing to join Sentinels,” Michael Udall said. “I watched Bugha win (the Fortnite World Cup) live and was solidified as a Sentinels fan after the Valorant World Championship. Sentinels know how to build and support winning teams. I hope to help bring home first a North American Championship and then work on a world championship.”

Grinding the ranked leaderboards in Wild Rift, Sheesh joins Sentinels as an experienced jungler who loves to play Champions such as Olaf, Xin, and Camille. Together with his team, Sheesh helped propel the team past Cloud 9 during last week’s open qualifiers for the first major.

We couldn’t be more excited to join mobile gaming with a proven and established squad of Champions. For information about future tournaments, be sure to check across our socials for the latest updates!
