LOS ANGELES (May 2, 2021) - In a dominant run through the winners bracket of the VALORANT Champions Tour (VCT) NA Stage 2 Challengers Finals, Sentinels emerged victorious once again to secure a spot at first-ever international tournament in VALORANT Esports history.

The first three matches against Version1, 100 Thieves, and Cloud9 all went to a third map in the best-of-three series, with the Sentinels prevailing each time by a final score of 2-1. In the grand finals, the team shifted to another gear to sweep Version1 in a rematch from round one in 3-0 fashion.

Match MVP honors in the grand finals were awarded to Michael “dapr” Gulino on Map 1 Bind; Hunter “SicK” Mims on Map 2 Haven; and Shahzeb “ShahZaM” Khan on Map 3 Icebox.

The dominant quintet composed of dapr, ShahZaM, SicK, Tyson “TenZ” Ngo, and Jared “zombs” Gitlin will now travel to Reykjavik, Iceland for VALORANT Stage 2 Masters set to take place on May 24-30. A total of 10 teams from around the world will compete at Masters: Reykjavik.

Sentinels are the only team in North America to have visited the grand finals in each of the first two stages of the VALORANT Champions Tour, claiming first place in Stage 1 Masters and now in Challengers Finals of Stage 2.

This is the eighth championship that the organization has won in competitive VALORANT since the beginning of competition in April 2020. Sentinels have also earned the most prizing in VALORANT Esports, claiming nearly $250,000 in that same time frame.

Sentinels claimed the top prize of $40,000 for their championship victory Sunday.

The five-man roster battled through several weeks of open and closed qualifiers before earning one of four final spots into this weekend’s event with a tournament victory in the VALORANT Challengers Week 2 Finals on April 25.
