SENTINELS BREAK THE INTERNET WITH SHROUD SIGNING

The Sentinels turned the world of esports upside down on Friday, July 8th 2022 when they launched the surprise signing of FPS world champion and top Twitch streamer Michael "shroud" Grzesiek to their Valorant roster. The move to Sentinels also confirmed shroud's first return to competitive FPS gaming in over 3 years. The move has been compared to Michael Jordan coming back from retirement to join the Lakers. Rumors had circulated that the Sentinels were looking for a 5th to replace Hunter "SicK" Mims while he's on a mental health break, but nobody guessed it would be the legendary player would be an active participant in their upcoming tournament games.

The tweet announcing shroud's return immediately went hyper-viral. Within an hour it had tens of thousands of likes & retweets and every verified esports figure had chimed in with their shock at the signing. Over the next 48 hours the tweet would go on to become the most liked tweet in the history of esports, a high-water mark for the already extremely successful social media team at Sentinels. Videos of top streamers and celebrities responding to the news quickly began to populate on YouTube and other social media sights as the new rippled throughout the esports world.

Shroud will now go on to attend the Sentinels boot camp in preparation for the upcoming Valorant tournament in August, and if the team succeeds there would potentially go on to compete in the the World Champions Valorant event in September; a potential situation that has esports fans everywhere excited.
