SENTINELS EXPAND INTO APEX LEGENDS
Sentinels Expand Into Apex Legends, Forming New Pro Team
Led by Rob Moore, the Sentinels esports organization continues its expansion, debuting their new Apex Legends team during Twitch Rivals
LOS ANGELES (March 26th, 2019) -- The Sentinels are excited to announce their expansion into the Apex Legends Competitive scene, as well as the announcement of their brand-new roster. The core Apex team roster is comprised of competitive gaming stalwarts Morgan “Payne” Redfield Jr., Jared “zombs” Gitlin, and Nathan “xretzi” Telen and will be debuting in the Twitch Rivals Road to TwitchCon event, starting today, March 26th at 2:30 pm PDT.
Hailing from Seattle, Washington, Payne is most known for his next level Bangalore skills in the Apex arena, taking home a second-place finish in the first Twitch Rivals event. He has had prior success in the competitive Battle Royale scene, finishing 1st place in the Fortnight Fall Skirmish Series.
As Lifeline main, zombs is no stranger to the spotlight, placing 2nd in the Overwatch Agents Rising Tournament alongside Team Liquid and 2nd in the MLG Vegas Overwatch Tour with FaZe Clan. Most recently a member of Skyfoxes, zombs is a seasoned Overwatch pro who has finished top 100 in over 10 seasons.
Alongside his Skyfoxes teammate zombs, xretzi is one of the most well known and respected names in the Overwatch Contenders series. A professional DPS player, xretzi feels right at home in the Apex Arena on his main legend, Wraith.
“We are excited for the opportunity to put together such a fantastic and competitive team in Apex and continue our goals of growing into new and exciting spaces,” says Charlie Lipsie, Director of Esports.
“Apex Legends has had one of the most successful launches in video game history for the free-to-play space and the timing for us was perfect to form a team as we look to aggressively expand the Sentinels brand,” says Rob Moore, company founder.
The Sentinels organization was launched in 2016. In 2017, they entered into an agreement with Kroenke Sports and Entertainment to manage the Los Angeles Gladiators and its Contenders affiliate, Gladiators Legion. In 2018, the organization rebranded to the Sentinels. Apex now joins the other Sentinels teams competing in Fortnite with Animal, Aspect, Bugha, Carose, and Rieo and in Hearthstone with StrifeCro, Greensheep, and Impact. Most recently, the Sentinels signed iconic Twitch streamer xQc to their roster, who will play as a substitute main tank on the Gladiators Legion and compete in other gaming formats with players from the Sentinels organization.
